About the Author

William L. Niven lives and works in the small community of Morgan Hill, California. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice and provides couples with counseling as a marriage counselor. He is a frequent speaker at various functions and is a former college instructor. Psychotherapy is a second career for Mr. Niven, having retired some years ago as an international airline pilot flying Boeing 747 aircraft all around the world for the Flying Tigers and Federal Express.

Having served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Mr. Niven's interest in Marine Corps history began after he was honorably discharged from the Corps. Since then, he has accepted a commission in the California State Military Reserve with the rank of Captain serving as a training officer where he employs his skills by providing services to members of the California National Guard who are either deploying to or just returning from Iraq or Afghanistan.

Mr. Niven has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from San Francisco State University and a Master's Degree from The University of San Francisco in Counseling Psychology. His greatest passions in life are enjoying the company of his two children, reading history books and traveling throughout the country.
